Cheat: Hidden Pictures
When “fighting” the Sorrow take pictures of the bosses as they appear and you will see ghostly images of the MGS 3 team.
Hint: Alt. Ocelot Video
At the end of the game when Ocelot tell you to choose a gun you can make him angry by not choosing one but when your done angering him go ahead and choose one. Don't pull the trigger and wait for him pull the trigger 6 times. You'll get a different cinematic ending.
Unlockable: Monkey Mask
Get the five best times in Snake Vs. Ape to unlock the monkey mask.
Unlockable: Nightmare Mini-Game
After Snake's torture, you can save the game. If you load this save in another game, a sword fighting mini-game will begin.

Unlock Killing Mini-Game
Once you get thrown in prison after being tortured save the game and turn off your PS2. The dialogue from the save chick will have something along the lines of, "I've got a bad feeling about saving here". Quit out, then load the game once more and you will end up playing some random killing game.
Unlockable: Metal Gear Acid
On the first floor of the Graniny Gorki Lab, interrogate the guard in the lobby three times and he will give you a code for the PSP game Metal Gear Acid. The code word is from Zone of the Enders II and it is JEHUTY.
Unlockable: Mosin Nagant
When you fight The End, beat him using only the MK22. You will get his Sniper Rifle, the Mosin Nagant.
Hint: Torch Guards
Sneak up on a guard, go into first person view and look down so that the torch is in the body of the guard. 3-4 seconds later and he's dead!
Unlock Stealth Camouflage (Alternate):
An alternate way to unlock the stealth camouflage is to clear the game without sounding a single alert.
You can get stealth camo by complete the game without a single alert, this is true but it can be done with a lower level alert (yellow or orange). If you don't believe this, then take into account a yellow alert occurs after you met EVA. You sleep and the next day (morning) Ocelot units will attack you (this is the alert).
After you and EVA crash with the motorcycle, EVA joins you and on way to the lake, enemy soldiers arrive and search for you (this is the orange alert).
As you can see, it is impossible to get the stealth camo without an single alert, so you can get low level alerts, but not a single red alert.
Hint: Snake Pukes
Spin snake in circles in the cure menu to make Snake throw up.
Hint: Title Screen Fun
On the title screen the L3 button changes the pattern in the background. R1 speeds up action and R2 slows it down. L1 switches the black silhouette from the foreground to the background and L2 changes the color of the silhouette. L3 changes the color of the pattern in the background.
Hint: Ocelot Time Paradox
After the cut scene where you first meet Ocelot, knife him to death. Once you kill him the game over screen will pop-up and say "OCELOT IS DEAD." Cambell will then yell at Snake for creating a time paradox.
Hint: Raiden Poster
When you steal Raikov's outfit in Groznyg Grad you hide Raikov's body in a locker room on the 2nd floor. Once you take his body in the room, a cut scene will start showing snake putting Raikov's body in a locker. If you look closely, you can quickly see a poster of Raiden from MGS2 on the inside of the door of the locker. This is the locker that contains the sneaking suit later.
Hint: The Three Snakes
In the last Boss battle between you and The Boss, there are three logs, check all of them, you should recover three snakes, each pure white. The Snakes’ names will be, Snake Liquid, Snake Solidus, and Snake Solid.
Hint: Hidden R1 Scenes
Secret 1: When there's the animation with Volgin beating Tatyana, Boss sending The Fear to kill you, The End is there in a wheel chair, etc. When the Boss says: "The Sorrow, is that you?". It gives you a R1 notice, but you're zooming on The Boss. Move the camera to the right to see The Sorrow.
Secret 2: When you kill Volgin on the Shagohad and Eva is about to kiss you, hold R1. You won't get any notice, but it works. You're going to see The Sorrow standing in the background.
Secret 3: After you killing The Boss, once the horse is there, hold R1. You won't get any notice, but it works. You're going to see The Boss spirit with The Sorrow.
Secret 4: When you're shaking hands with the President, hold R1. You won't get any notice, but it works anyway. Move the camera to the left to see Ocelot doing his trademark taunt from the window.
Secret 5: When Big Boss is standing in front of The Boss's grave, hold R1. You won't get any notice, but it works anyway. You're going to see the complete Graveyard.
Secret 6: When Ocelot is leaving the Torture Room, Press R1. You won't get any notice, but it works anyway. You're going to see The Boss doing Ocelot's taunt.
Secret 7: This scene occurs when you meet EVA in the Mountaintop ruins. When it shows only Ocelot and EVA alone and Ocelot is walking away the camera will go to Snake looking through his binoculars when this happens press R1 and it will show EVA doing Ocelot's taunt.
Hint: Prison Cut Scene
When the guard throws the food in, throw it back. After doing this 3 times, you'll get a cut scene. He'll also give you an item that should make the escape a little easier.
Hint: The End's Parrot
When you come to the first area to fight "the end", there is a crumbled stone wall in front of you with "the ends" parrot sitting on it. Kill the parrot and hear what "the end" has to say. You can then chow down on the bird.
Hint: Infinite Face Paint
Obtain the Foxhound ranking and receive the infinite face paint.
Hint: Skip The End
In the cut scene when you see The End in a wheelchair, quickly get your gun out (use the sniper rifle if you have it) and shoot his head before he gets back inside the building.
When you arrive to "Sokrovenno" you won't be confronted by The End, instead you'll be confronted by Ocelot Soldiers. Each area, (I.E. North, West, South) will consist of several soldiers and one sniper. Just make your way north towards Krasnogorje Tunnel.
Hint: Anger Volgin
When fighting Volgin the first time you can wear the Ivan’s mask and he will think you are the major and hesitate from attacking you. You will have a chance to shoot him a few times without him attacking. He will realize who you are after a while and become angry and attack more frequently.
Hint: The End Dies
If you save the game while in battle with "The End" and then reset your PS2 and go into the system setup menu and adjust the system clock for one week later, you will reload the game and snake sneaks up on "The End" to find out that he has died of old age!
Hint: Fire Support
In the mountain areas of MGS3 (after you defeat "The End") you can interrogate a guard he will tell you a secret radio frequency that will cause his fellow troops to give cover fire. This doesn't exactly help snake but is still cool to see. The frequency is 147.90, it has to be in the mountain areas and you can only do it once.
Hint: Make The Pain Easier
Use the shotgun against the Pain, it will blow the bees away. Also, a smoke grenade is effective.

Hint: Maintenance Disguise
If you need help planting the bombs in the Shagohad hanger there's a disguise that will help; before entering the main wing, search through all the lockers in the locker room of the east wing (try the fourth row to the right) and you will find the uniform maintenance. Combined with the Raiden mask you can use this in the Shagohad hanger and enemies will leave you alone. Just try not to attract the other workers' attention.
Hint: Snake Wants to Eat:
When playing MGS3, tranquilize and capture a European rabbit. Then call Para-Medic. This has to be the first time you speak to her about European rabbits. She will analyze the rabbit and talk about its background and Snake will have some interesting comments on the subject.
Hint: Beat Volgin Easily
When you first fight Volgin wear the Raiden Mask and while he's confused place several TNT in front of him. This way you can detonate them at a distance and avoid him using his shield. You can also place the TNT in his way when he charges you.
Hint: Beat Volgin with Ease
If you throw the Glow Cap mushrooms while fighting Volgin his lightning attack will go towards the mushroom instead of hitting you.
Hint: Arrow Bug
This happens after fighting The Fear. You can see the arrows The Fear shoots at you attached to your body. You have to take them out in the cure menu. But if you save the game with an arrow in your body and quit, after a while when you return to the game you are cured, but the arrow remains in your body for the rest of the game.
Hint: Raiden and Raikov
If you get in Alert mode in Groznyg Grad, head to the bathroom at the end of the hall. Go in and you'll see Raikov standing there. When he sees you, he'll attack you with the double-punch, double-kick combo that Raiden uses in MGS2. Also note that Raikov's middle name is RAIDENovich
Hint: Fighting The End
There are two very distinct ways of finding him -- (1)when The End is sniping, his scope glints; (2) use your thermal googles and follow his footsteps. If you have enough food you can eventually wear him out.
Hint: Four Shot Volgin
Shoot Volgin's treads with the rocket launcher (he can not move) then shoot him in the head with the SVD. Do this twice and Volgin will be beat.
Easter Egg: Movie
After you're through with the torture and you're in your cell, leave the transmitter in that's lodged in you rather than extract it with the knife. When you get to the cave with Eva, you'll see a funny cut scene.
Hint: Poison The Fear By Making Him "The Crap"
If you're having trouble beating The Fear, or want to beat him non-lethally, try this: start the battle with poisoned food and toss some around in the middle of the area. When The Fear's stamina gets low, he will instinctively eat that food first before trying to pluck other food to eat. This food will drain his stamina and will give you time to shoot him.
Hint: Fun with Eva
Once Eva joins you after the motorcycle scene there are a few things you can do. If you picked up a camera earlier, pull it out and stare at her through it and in different areas you will receive different responses. Go prone and crawl at her, she'll get embarrassed then stand up and walk off slightly. In the cure menu, move her around with the left joystick and she’ll bounce. Yay!
Hint: Re-arm Tortured Snake
At N.E Grozny Grad where you crawl under the pipes to escape torture, Snake can quickly take on a weapon of immediate help. Instead of crawling unde the pipes in that area, opt to go left to the storage shack instead and Snake can find a M63 light machine gun within.
